Spectacular bronze sculptures, made in the purest Art Nouveau style, according to the model of the North American artist Edward McCartan (1879-1947). They represent a couple of naked teenagers holding bronze pitchers on their shoulders.
I cannot guarantee that these pieces are original to the artist. But there is no doubt that they are, at worst, one of the first versions, from the first half of the 20th century, given their size. These pieces have been profusely reproduced as table candlesticks, but in much smaller dimensions, which, however, are sold proportionally much more expensive than my price.
Measurement: About 59.25 inches high the tallest. Very heavy, about 120-150 lbs each.
In very good antique condition, only the edge of the pitchers is slightly irregular, but perhaps this is from their casting.
