The golden figurine of ibex (aegagros), was our model to create this handmade gold-plated 24K replica. The figurine is unique in its kind, was found among the many findings from the excavation at the prehistoric settlement in Akrotiri,Santorini. It was found in an excellent condition stored in a wooden case, in a clay urn. Akrotiri of Thira is one of the most important archaeological sites in the Aegean Sea.

Appearance: The artefact is a figurine of an Ibex, coated in Gold, the object is actually hollow.
Uses: The Ibex is most likely just a gold statue that was intended for religious use, most likely that of an offering.
Significance: This artefact demonstrates that the people of Thera are advanced enough to mine and smelt gold as well as constructing objects out of said gold.
Expert Opinion: Christos Doumas comments that it may have been a offering, as it was discovered near Xest 3, a place were rituals were said to be held.
Scientific methods: Carbon dating and x-rays were used on the artefact to determine it's age and what is on the inside.
