~ An early carving by noted woodcarver Larry Roberts of an abstract, somewhat cubist depiction of a 4-faced Jack playing card figure titled "One-Eyed Jacks" ~ Larry Roberts passed away recently this June. This carving and others I'm selling this week come from his estate and were part of his private collection of carvings, never offered for sale. ~ This carved sculpture features four overlapping faces which when viewed from each corner show the visage of the knave or jack with one eye open and one eye closed. It measures just over 12" tall and 5" square. ~ Beautifully carved and with a natural wood finish and nice patina. ~ Signed with the initials L.J.R. carved on the underside as well as his signature, date and title of the piece: "LARRY ROBERTS 3-90 'ONE EYED JACKS'".

Larry Roberts passed away recently this June. This carving and others I'm selling this week come from his estate and were part of his private collection of carvings, never offered for sale.
This carved sculpture features four overlapping faces which when viewed from each corner show the visage of the knave or jack with one eye open and one eye closed. It measures just over 12" tall and 5" square.
Beautifully carved and with a natural wood finish and nice patina.
Signed with the initials L.J.R. carved on the underside as well as his signature, date and title of the piece: "LARRY ROBERTS 3-90 'ONE EYED JACKS'".
Condition is pristine with no chips, cracks or damage other than the natural imperfections in the original wood itself. A beautiful, unusual sculpture that would fit in well with Danish Modern or other MCM decor.
