Magnificent Vintage Carved Spaniel Pointer Dog Marble Onyx Signed Hodm ? Holm ?

Description

Bought at an estate sale and don’t know how old it is orwhere made.
I assume it is carved out ofeither marble or maybe onyx.
It isdefinitely not made of alabaster (which is relatively soft) as the material is extremelyhard.
Dog and piece of oval shapedmarble on which it stands are carved out of the same piece of marble/onyx.
It measures 14“ from nose to tail and thetail (highest point) stands 7” tall.
Base measures 2.5” wide by 10.5.
Itweighs 4.5.
No chips, cracks or repairs of any kind.
I have included a photo of the artistssignature on the bottom but I can’t make it out.
